SNAP has been using Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), which utilizes commercial infrastructure as the distribution network for

From 2005 to 2010, we also led the design, implementation and operation of the first state-wide online WIC rollout in the nation. Our team brought an open technology based disruptive EBT platform to the market back in 2002. We contributed to the ISO8583 and X9.93 technical interface specifications that paved the road for WIC EBT standardization. Furthermore, we have successfully implemented and operated more than 30 food and cash EBT programs.
